Five malnourished children found locked in a filthy room in Brazil, the condition is very terrible

News24xx.com - Five malnourished children are found in dirty rooms with terrible conditions after successfully to throwing two notes containing their handwriting to neighbors through their home windows. The three boys and two women between the ages of 6 and 14 were rescued from a terrible confinement in Cuiaba, southwestern Brazil, on Friday, December 8, 2017.

Investigators said their parents, who had been arrested on suspicion of child abuse, were holding a barbecue when they arrived at the house. The young people were found trapped in a dirty room, sleeping on a wet mattress without electricity or access to food or clean water.

The five skinny survivors managed to end their suffering by throwing notes containing their handwriting wrapped around a stone from their window that was forbidden to be opened by their parents. Notes issued by police from the Special Defense of Child and Adolescent Rights (Deddica), describe their heart-destroying conditions.

In one of the desperate notes, a child wrote, "We are locked indoors, we are hungry and thirsty."

In another they wrote: "We need food, we are imprisoned without food, He (their father) gives us rotten food."

The victim's parents, named Helio Roberto dos Santos and Natalia Pereira de Paula, both aged 30, have been arrested for exacerbating domestic violence and violence that involving child abuse, torture and ill-treatment.

When the investigators arrived at the property they found the parent made a barbecue.

Wagner Vinicius de Lima told the Northeast Journal: 'It seems to me that Helio and Natalia are enjoying a delicious meal while their children are confined in the room, starving and can only smell their food.'


Detective Lima says: "Children and teenagers spend their days locked in a room at the back of the house where the parents live, and they occasionally leave the place to go to school".

The room was damp, dirty and foul-smelling and the mattress where the victims slept is wet, the smell is very piercing nose and the condition of the room is very dirty.

"I have been working in child protection for seven years, but this is the first time I have found children living in a place that not for human," he said.

Det Five added: 'They need a lot of psychological care to recover because when we save them, they look very sad and very undernourished'.


Det Five said: "The victim's food was severely rationed. They lived on unseasoned and undercooked rice and beans."

Previously, the neighbors reported when they heard the children often shouted when they were beaten by their parents by using belts and metal pipes. It is not known how long the children were imprisoned. Agents say they will start investigating the case next week.
