News24xx.com -  The deadly attack allegedly triggered by a feud over religious leadership positions left three people dead at the famous Shinto religious shrine in Tokyo, Japan.

The female monk as well as the leader of the temple was stabbed to death, as reported by her brother. A bloodied samurai sword was found at the scene, along with another knife.

The offending wife was also involved in the attack on Thursday night, police said, which also caused the temple-led driver was wounded. The perpetrator of the attack then stabbed his wife to death before he committed suicide. The fight has been going on for a long time.

The attack begins when the 58-year-old monk NagakoTomioka stepped down from his car in the shrine and was blocked by his older brother, ShigenagaTomioka, 56, and his 30-year-old wife.

The wife reportedly attacked the chaplain's driver, and stabbed him with a sword. The driver then escapes, and is chased by the woman.

Police said there was a splash of blood around the temple, but the driver's injuries did not threaten his soul. But the monk, who suffered a stab wound to his chest and wound a shot behind his neck, was then killed.

The suspects then fled to a location near the holy temple. There, the assailant then kills his wife. "We believe the man suspected the man stabbed her before she stabbed herself," said a police spokesman.

According to local media reports, the killing was triggered by the long feud between the monk and his brother. Tomioka is the leader of the Shinto temple monk, after taking over his father's position in the 1990s, reports Asahi Shimbun.
