News24xx.com -  Apple is negotiating to buy a popular song recognition app ie Shazam. One of their ways is trying to compete with Spotify's flagship streaming service, the Tech Crunch page says.


The technology website that citing an unnamed source reported that the deal will be announced on Monday in next week on uncertain financial terms.

But, an Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the news.

Since it was filled in 1999, Shazam offers a solution for listeners who do not recognize music on the radio or in bars, by utilizing microphones on their phones. Shazam will provide information in the form of singers and song titles that are played to their system.


Shazam that based in London, said last year that they reached a billion downloads in smartphones.

But, lately they are starting to earn profits by combining ads and working with other technology companies including Spotify and Apple.


Apple launched Apple Music in 2015 as the music listening market switched to streaming services.

Last September, Apple declared the service to reach more than 30 million subscribers, but this figure is still below Spotify which now pocketed 60 million paid subscribers as of July and 80 million subscribers for the free version.
