News24xx.com -  A man who filmed himself to kills a cat by burning them alive with a torch saying that his act is a form of pest control.

Makoto Oya shared a video about the murder for 13 months before being arrested in April this year.


The 52-year-old man, from Saitama City, Japan, has been given a probation sentence for the torture of the dreadful animal.


He was found guilty of killing nine cats but is believed to have killed up to 13 cats using torches or pour boiling water on helpless animals.

His video that made the audience terrified that eventually escorted him to the police.


He traveled until 50 miles to the city of Fukaya to commit murder, catching the stray cats in a trap before taking them to a shabby house for torture.

During the first stage of his trial he argued that killing a cat should not be a crime and that he was only doing pest control.

'Dirt and urine of rotten cats, their nails are sharpened to injure. I do not recognize the destruction of dangerous animals as a violation of the law, "he told judges during a trial in the Tokyo District Court.

The judge said: 'The crime is really cruel, and its influence on society is also great.'

But the judge added that Oya later admitted that his actions were wrong and had donated money to the animal welfare organization.

The Tokyo District Court sentenced Oya to one year and ten months in prison, suspended for a period of four years.
