News24xx.com -  Most of the waste in the form of bottles of drinks and food packaging such as dinner boxes, plastic snack packs and styrofoam successfully cleaned after the celebration of the turn of the year held in several locations in Jakarta.

Total waste this year is 780 tons. This is more than last year.

Head of Jakarta Environment Agency, Isnawa Adji in a written statement in Jakarta, on Monday, January 1, 2017 said, "This number is slightly increased compared to last year because in this year, Sudirman-Thamrin Road and Ancol area also opened."

The direct cleaning process is begins when people leave the venue for the evening of the celebration.

Isnawa Adji said the clean-up process this year is more helpful because previously the officers have distributed 10,000 garbage bags to the traders and visitors.

"The garbage has been collected so the cleaning process is relatively easy, while for roads we use 30 units of road sweepers, the cleaning is fast," he said.

"Jakarta residents and independent small entrepreneurs participate in this activity, according to the Governor's expectation that waste management should be implemented as a movement of all citizens of Jakarta and we join hands," he said.
