Activities to sharing photos and video become favorite customers in Christmas and New Year

News24xx.com -  Telkomsel successfully to guard and serve the needs of customer communication in the period of Christmas 2017 and New Year 2018.

At the moment of the turn of the year, Telkomsel recorded data services reached until 10.7 petabytes or increased 42 percent.

Adita Irawati, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Telkomsel said, "The high increase in data service traffic is triggered by the increasing activity of customers who upload photos or video activity moments before and after the turn of the year through various social media applications."

"In addition, the use of smartphones and tablet computers to made stream of video and communications through instant messaging applications also increased in the period," said Adita.

The highest contribution to the use of data services in general comes from activities in social media that reached 35 percent. Customers also take advantage of data services to watch streaming movies or videos with a contribution of 31 percent.

"The shifting behavior of customers in using the services we have predicted before, where data services are now increasingly dominant used by customers. However, customers in some areas still intensively use voice and SMS services in communicate during the New Year period," said Adita.

"We are grateful that the preparations that we have made over the past few months have been able to deliver excellent service over the years, and to our customers' convenience in communicating on special occasions such as the New Year is very important, we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services to make our customers more comfortable in communicating using Telkomsel services at any time," said Adita.

To anticipate the spike in routine service traffic at the turn of the year, Telkomsel has since strengthened all the network elements throughout Indonesia.

Network optimization has taken place in 709 major crowded points such as airports, stations, terminals, ports, tourist attractions, hotels and lodges, as well as places of worship, including 14 points of priority network security and 13 shopping centers that requiring reliable quality broadband services.
