News24xx.com -  An ISIS terrorist that accused of killing eight people after deliberately driving a truck down Manhattan's bike path on Halloween said he would plead guilty about the crime if he escaped from death penalty.

Saipov arrived in the US as a legal immigrant in 2010. He lives in Ohio and Florida and works as a commercial truck driver before moving to New Jersey with his wife and children.

Lawyer of Sayfullo Saipov, David Patton made that announcement in a newspaper on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

Patton and other lawyers from the New York Federal Defense Agency added that if the government does seek Saipov's death, they need it until September 2019 to prepare for their defense.

Uzbekistan Immigrant Saipov, who initially pleaded not guilty, is said to have propagated ISIS by his cell phone.

The trial wanted a test date set up in April 2019, so that victims' families, that living in distant places like Argentina, Belgium and Germany could organize the trip.

A spokeswoman said: "This incident is very traumatic for victims who have lost their siblings, who are get seriously injured, or traumatized because they continue to revive the Saipov's attacks while telling details of the deadly incident."
