News24xx.com -  According to Dr. Michael Mosley, the best time to consuming carbohydrates should be in the morning.

It is considered that the longer the body burns the glucose they release. If you fail to do this, can cause insulin release that eventually bring blood sugar levels back to normal. Excess sugar from carbohydrates will be stored as fat causing people to gain weight.

However, a new study that published in BBC's Trust Me I'm a Doctor found that carbohydrate intake at night causes a spike in blood sugar that is not too high compared to breakfast.

Dr. Mosley suggests to be more consistent with carbohydrate eating habits and avoid eating too much.

Quoted from Daily Mail, January 17 2018 , Dr. Mosley and researchers from the University of Surrey asked for healthy volunteers to consume carbohydrates in the morning or evening. All study participants ate the same amount of carbohydrates every day ie bread, rice, pasta and vegetables.


During for first five days, volunteers must ate carbohydrates for breakfast time and in the next five days, they can to eat some normal food before take a dinner with resorting to low-carb over the past five days.

The researchers analyzed the blood sugar levels of the volunteers during the study. Low carb breakfast and dinner with high carbohydrate foods give the best results.


The results revealed that low-carbohydrate breakfasts and dinners with high-carbohydrate meals can increase a person's glucose response by an average of 10.4 units. And eating a lot of carbohydrates in the morning and a little of carbohydrates at night turned out to increase the glucose response of 15.9 units.
