But, this service is still available in India and presence in beta version. However, WhatsApp is working to expand the feature of payments to various countries in stages.


Users can send money to other WhatsApp users. These features are available for Android and iOS smartphone users.


As quoted from TechCrunch, on Sunday February 11 2018, WhatsApp Payments has been integrated with Unified Payment Interface (UPI) that supported by various banks in the State of Bollywood, such as State Bank of India, ICIC Bank, HDFC Bank, to Axis Bank.


WhatsApp Payments has received permission from the Government of India to integrate UPI in July 2017 as a means of payment.


To used it, users only need to go to the settings section. And you can to continue verification the phone number through SMS and choose the bank. The payments option then be available in the main WhatsApp interface.


The presence of WhatsApp Payments has the potential to become the strongest Payment to Payment (P2P) service provider in India, as millions of people have been connected thanks to the cheap internet service rates and affordable smartphone prices.
