Terrible, bodies of newborn twins found dead in sewers on the road in a suitcase

News24xx.com -  The bodies of newborn twins were found to have been dumped by the side of the road with suitcases.

The two babies had been put in a purple suitcase and found around 1:45 pm local time on Friday afternoon, February 16, 2018 in the gutter.

It is unclear whether the baby died before it was found in Wynne, Arkansas, USA.

A passerby is believed to have found the suitcase before calling for emergency services.

Lonnie Harris, who has lived in a quiet community for 40 years, told KATV: "Here, everyone knows each other, but I am surprised when know about this incident. Because it is so close to where I live."

Another resident, Patricia Warren, added: "It's sad that there's a tragic incident in a small town."

He added: "If they [the baby parents] do not want them, anyone at Wynne will take care of them, there are a lot of nice people here."

The Cross County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the incident and asking anyone who might have information to contact.

"It's awful, it's a city talk, if they do not want them, all they have to do is take the babies to the hospital, but not put them in the suitcase," said Alice Cummings, another resident in the city.

Autopsies are believed to be performed in infants this weekend.
