Rumbling Mount Sinabung on the Indonesian island of Sumatra make two villages experiencing of stone rain

News24xx.com -  Sinabung Mountain that shook the island of Sumatra in Indonesia has brought ash to over 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) into the atmosphere and hot clouds down its slope.


The National Disaster Mitigation Agency said there were no fatalities or injuries that caused by the powerful eruption that occurred on Monday morning, February 19, 2018.


The volcano, one of three active volcanoes in Indonesia, has previously killed two people in 2010. Another eruption that occurred in 2014 killed 16 people, while seven others were killed in the 2016 eruption.


Head of Public Relations of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPN), Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the hot ash cloud has been heading south as far as 4,900 meters.


Regional volcanic ash advisory center in Darwin, Australia, issued a "red notification" to the airlines.


About 30,000 people have been forced to leave homes around the mountain in recent years.
