News24xx.com -  The government of Indonesia is preparing a tax policy for e-commerce transactions. Apparently, not just for marketplace, the online transactions in social media like Facebook and Instagram will also be taxed.


Director of Counseling, Services and Public Relations Directorate General of Taxation, Hestu Yoga Saksama said they had heard the request of the perpetrators of e-commerce who asked for a fair competition map.

Therefore online transactions on social media will also be taxed.


"Later, the online transactions on social media such as Instagram and Facebook will also be subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) and Income Tax (PPh)", he said at BEI Building Jakarta, on Monday, February 19 2018


For a while, the Directorate General of Taxation will supervise the seller's business activities on social media . Like other taxpayers, they also still have to report their income in annual notice (SPT).


And, for the rules of e-commerce taxation will be adjusted with the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
