News24xx.com - Finally, the wreckage of a crashed plane in Iran on Sunday has been found today, on Monday February 19, 2018.

From a local media report, Aseman Airlines' passenger plane crashed in the Zagros mountains on Sunday, and all 66 passengers on board the plane were killed.

Strong winds and snow forced the search and rescue teams must cancel the searches on Sunday, but they continued their search today.

It is known, that the ATR 72-500 aircraft was traveling from Tehran to the town of Yasuj in the southwest.

The flight left Tehran at 4:30 GMT on Sunday, and crashed about an hour later.

The location of the accident occurred about 22km from Yasuj, in the area of ??Mount Dena, close to Semirom town in Isfahan province.

Based information from the Iranian civil aviation organization said, the crashed plane was 25 years old.

Sixty passengers, two security guards, two flight attendants and a pilot and a co-pilot are on board.

Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani expressed sympathy for all parties involved, and saying in a statement that the incident had incised "deep sadness".

Iran has suffered several aviation accidents in recent years and has an aging fleet of aircraft.

The country has struggled to get spare parts to defend its aircraft in the face of international sanctions imposed to curb its nuclear program.

The sanctions have largely been lifted after an agreement between Iran and the United States in 2015.
