News24xx.com -  A baby who was tortured by his parents with very cruel when he was just six weeks old, he had to have both legs amputated, in November 2014.

The baby's parents, Tony Smith, 46, and Jody Simpson, 24, were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for torturing their baby.

During the investigation, shocking pictures revealed poverty inside their flat in Maidstone, Kent, where Smith and Simpson tortured their baby named Tony Smith.

They have denied causing or allowing serious physical damage to the child but both are ultimately found guilty.

Pictures that provided by police and prosecutors have revealed the terrible state of a one-bedroom flat in Maidstone, Kent, with dirty clothes piled on the floor and rubbish piled on the children's bed.

In the picture, pile of clothes that looks covering the floor along with the dirty laundry hanging in the bathroom.

The couple were also convicted of child abuse in connection with their delay in seeking medical help when their child's condition was deteriorated in November 2014.

They told police they had to wait in a one-bedroom flat on Square Hill Road, Maidstone, for plumbers to fix their kettle.

Maidstone Crown Court Judge, Philip Statman says that Smith and Simpson are not allowed to file an appeal.

But he added: "Tony's baby is very vulnerable. Who can take care of a 41-day-old baby other his parent, who brought him to the world and gives love unconditionally?"

Maidstone Crown Court in Kent heard that at the time the baby also had septicemia. His skin turned gray, took out foam from his mouth and sniffed, with the body 'very swollen' and experienced many organ failure.

Fortunately, medical care from GPs, paramedics and staff at Pembury Hospital in Kent and then the Evelina Children's Hospital in London managed to save his life.

The baby also suffered terrible fractures on both thighs and lower legs, right ankle, left thumb and two bones in the big toe. This is revealed by x-rays.

The doctors then concluded that the baby must be caused by a sprained fracture on the right foot and ankle.

He suffered so much from the wound that he showed signs of distress even while being anesthetized at the hospital.

Unfortunately, the septicemia that he suffered was so severe and makes Tony, who has since been adopted and given a new identity, had to have his legs amputated, his hip joint so badly damaged by the infection that he may not be able to withstand the burden of prosthetic limbs.

However, despite the dreadful start of his life and facing ongoing medical and disability treatments, the court is playing videos of how the three-year-old boy grew happily with his new family.

Attorney Heather Stangoe said: "The special boy deserves a special family, and the rest of the case is that I can say that he does have a wonderful family."

"It is true to says that he had the most wonderful impact of their lives, he is a happy to grow up in his new family."

Simpson shows a bit of emotion but she tries to look at the photo of her son. Smith, the father and also the torturers who caused physical injuries to his son could only sit with his head bowed.

Tony was born at home on October 8, 2014.

The Court heard Simpson call her doctor on November 14, 2014 to say that the baby has symptoms like cold. She was advised to give him Calpol and take him back for an examination a week later.

However, four days later he has deteriorated. He was found with his eyes closed and his limbs hard and swollen. The doctors were surprised that Simpson had not to called an ambulance to ask for help.

Smith denied to hurting his son, and describing himself as a good father to his son. Simpson told the police that Smith was a 'brilliant' father and the couple stayed together until they were arrested before their trial.

But in court Simpson said when Smith had gripped her baby too tightly, lifted his off the floor with his wrist, and lifted his legs with his ankle just to drop it back onto the floor.
