Dam of Kepayang river being a new water tourism in Rokan Hulu

News24xx.com -  Now, Sei Kepayang's Dam that located in Rambah Utama Du SKPA village, District of Rambah Samo, Rokan Hulu, Riau Province, become a favorite water attractions for the community.

That water tour is most crowded by visitors on Saturdays, Sundays and other holidays.

Because it's crowded by visitors who come every Saturday and Sunday, the Department of Tourism and Culture of Rokan Hulu decided will make an area for a new water attractions. The water depth in dam of Kepayang river is between 2 to 4 meters.

"We are waiting for a Letter of Decision from the Government of Rambah Utama village, regarding the appointment of Sadar Wisata Group's management. Because based that letter, we can makes the Sei Kepayang's Dam being official tourist management object," said Head of Tourism and Culture of Rokan Hulu, Drs Yusmar, MSi .

Sei Kepayang's Dam is located not far from the Pondopo of Rokan Hulu Regent, and it's easy to access, because the road condition is good.

It's already thousands of visitors are coming there. They can to enjoyed the water tour, playing the rubber paddle boat and swimming.

Local residents expect an official management by the local government because now, it is still managed by individuals.

"Our hope is the place can be managed by Goverment of Rokan Hulu soon. So, it will gives income for Locally-generated revenue (PAD) for village and regency," said, Heri Susanto.

The dam is built from APBN 2017. Now, beside the place is be a favorite tourist spot, is also a source of business fields for merchants around. They have businesses to selling food, beverages, boat rentals and tires to tourists. The parking for vehicles is also spacious.

Some of them offer to rent many plastic boats, rubber and various in-car tires for rent. For small tires, you can rent only to pay IDR 5.000 and for large size, the price is about IDR 10.000.-

One of tourist, who rented a rubber boat named Anto, who was asked by News24xx.com, on Sunday, February 18 2018 said the price of boat rent is very cheap, it's start from IDR 20,000 until IDR 40,000 with no time limit and also equipped by buoy.

"If we rent this rubber boat, you can used it until hours," he said.

From monitoring of News24xx.com, many tourists rowing their boat with family.

After built December 2017, Sei Kepayang's Dam has submitted by Head of Rambah Samo village, Drs Zulbahri, to the Department of Tourism and Culture of Rokan Hulu, to be a destination tourism of water attraction.
