The land fires in Meranti Islands occured in National Sago Prima until 50 hectares

News24xx.com -  The forest and land fires (Karhutla) that occurred in the area of ??Tebing Tinggi Timur, Meranti Islands, Riau Province, Indonesia, in recent days up to now extend to reach about 200 hectares. Of the area, about 50 hectares occur in the land of National Sago Prima (NSP) company.

"Based on the results of the temporary count, the area of ??land fires reached until 200 hectares," said Riau Police spokesman, Guntur Aryo Tejo on Tuesday, February 2018.

He said, the police have been investigating the case of forest and land fires now. The team of task force from police have installed police line in the place where the allegedly as a source of fire the first time.

The police still makes investigation to looking for the main perpetrators.

"For the burned land has been installed police line, while the burned land is allegedly owned by individuals," said Guntur without specifying who the owners of individual land.

When asked about the land in NSP's company that have burned, he said that the company has been working to extinguish the fire with all their capabilities.
