A man from Czech has death after fell whilst posing for a photograph on waterfall

Like the case of this tourist. Jiri Barta, 32 years old, travelled to the beauty spot on Thai island Koh Samui on Thursday, February 22 2018 with a group of eight other holidaymakers, including one Briton.

At that time, the man shuffled to the edge of a cliff next to the Khun Sri waterfall while a friend took a photograph. However he then lost his footing and plunged to his death in front of his horrified friends at around 12pm. The man from Czech fell to his death while posing for a picture on top of a 100ft waterfall. His friends rushed down and desperately battled to resuscitate him without success.


Rescue workers arrived a short time later and he was pronounced dead at the scene before being taken to hospital for a post mortem examination. Another tourist who also the friend of Barta named Romana Uassara, 30 yo, said the group had arrived in Thailand on February 5 and they had rented five motorcycles to travel around the island.


Boonchai Wannawatchanasuntorn of Koh Samui’s tourist police, said rescuers spent five hours to found Barta's body.


Wannawatchanasuntorn said: ‘There is a forbidden sign to entering that we makes in Thai and English language that barring people from entering, but tourists keep ignoring it. And they always decide to come to that waterfall. Accidents happened often because the slope is very steep, at almost 90 degrees, and it is very slippery. It took the medical teams over two hours to bring the man up a steep path from where they found him. He was then taken to Koh Samui Hospital; doctors have said that he was in a serious condition but responding to treatment.
