News24xx.com -  Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Turkish passenger jet plane to be shooting down after a bomb threat was made shortly before the opening of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

Putin revealed the order of action in a new documentary called "Putin." In it, the president said that he received a phone call from security officers when the ceremony began.

Pilots of Turkish Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737-800, departing from Kharkov in Ukraine to the Turkish city of Istanbul, reported that a passenger on the plane had a bomb and demanded to land in Sochi. The plane, which continued its appointment in Turkey, carried 110 passengers on board.

During discussions with security officials about how to handle the situation, Putin asked what the standard procedure in such cases.

The President of Russia was told that according to the plan in such an emergency situation it is necessary to shoot down the plane. A few minutes after he made the decision, Putin received another call, which stated that the demand was false, and the passenger who  had made the bomb threat was intoxicated.

The incident occurred a few weeks after the unrest in Ukraine - from the place where the aircraft started, which led to the ousting of the country's pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovich.
