Stephen Hawking, world famous physicist and cosmologist has died aged 76

News24xx.com -  The physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking died on Tuesday March 13, 2018. Stephen Hawking whose insights shaped modern cosmology and inspired global audiences in the millions, has died aged 76.

The announcement came from a spokesman for the family. His family released a statement in the early hours of Wednesday morning confirming his death at his home in Cambridge.

The children of Professor Hawking, Lucy, Robert and Tim said in a statement: "We are deeply saddened that our beloved father passed away today oWednesday March 13, 2018".

"He was a great scientist, his courage and perseverance with his brilliance and humor inspire people all over the world. He once said, 'It would not be much of the universe if there is no place for your loved ones.'

"We will miss him forever."

Hawking contracted motor neuron disease in 1963. He is known as one of the most brilliant theoretical physicists since Albert Einstein. Hawking was driven to Wagner, but not the bottle, when he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1963 at the age of 21. Doctors expected him to live for only two more years.
