Borneo is the second highest place that has high drug use percentage after Jakarta

News24xx.com - Eradication Deputy of Indonesia National Narcotics Agency, Arman Depari, stated that Borneo is the second highest place that has high drug use percentage after Jakarta.

“We note that the area with the highest percentage is East Borneo, which is followed by other areas, because it becomes our main concern in cutting off the supply to the users,” said Depari, in Pontianak on Wednesday March 14 2018.

According to him, the numbers of the drug supply and the users are correlating, so they have to cut off the supply to decrease the number of users.

Furthermore, Borneo is prone to become the entrance for international drug syndicate because it has a close border with the neighboring country. Using that aspect, Depari added that drug syndicate is now targeting Borneo as marketing place for drugs.

“Because we are actively doing operation at east beach of Sumatra which resulted in securing tons of ‘shabu-shabu’ type of drugs, so the drug syndicate now turns to Borneo,” he said.

According to him, there was a big chance that the syndicate, who usually entered through waters border, to enter Borneo through the land border to sell the drugs, all the way to West Borneo.

“It could be that this ‘shabu-shabu’ shipment is just a small stage as they are still testing the field,” he said.
