Due to Facebook users data leaked, Mark Zuckerberg regrets and apologies

News24xx.com -  The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged his mistake and had apologized for the exploitation scandal of data from millions of Facebook users by political consultant in London, Cambdridge Analytica.


But he can not to explain the delay in handling a user Facebook complaints since 2015.


He admitted gave granted the permission to an institution to engaged in to collected data for of 50 million Facebook users related with Presidential campaign of Trump in 2016.


"I'm very apologize to this incident, we have responsibility to protect the data from our users and if we can not do it, we do not deserve a chance to serve others" he said in an interview with US CNN, as quoted from BBC, March 23 2018.


In a separate statement posted on social media platforms, Zuckerberg admitted his mistakes and will take action to correct the error. 

"This is a breach of trust between Alexandr Kogan, Cambridge Analytica and Facebook" he said.


Alexandr Kogan is a Cambridge University researcher who created an application which collected users personal data, and then sold the data to the data collection agency.


Zuckerberg was forced to apologize after a report from the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), an independent governing institution which regulates privacy policies.


They have a rules, if Facebook found committed a violation, the FTC may impose a fine more than USD 40 thousands per day for violation.


US Senator, Amy Klobuchar requested a judicial hearing on this issue formally. Cambridge Analytica accused for used data that collected from Facebook to conduct voter research during Donald Trump's Presidential campaign in 2016. This is make the drastic drop in the share price of Facebook.


In a statement, Mark Zuckerberg vowed to fix policies on Facebook to prevent similiar violations to happening again in the future.


"We apologized for what happened. In the end, I am responsible for what happen on our platform. We will learn from this experience,  to secure our platform further and make our society more safe" Zuckerberg said.
