News24xx.com -The civilians who live in Kempas District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province, found a two-meter crocodile in their settlement. The crocodile appeared at the place where children used to play in the water

The head of Kempas police department, Oka Mahendra Syahrial said that the crocodile appeared from under the bridge in Kempas area, near the house of a civilian named Sadirman to be exact.

“The crocodile that was captured by the civilians is around two meters long,” said Oka Mahendra on Thursday, March 30 2018.

He said that the crocodile was found under the bridge by Sadirman on 02:00 p.m. At the time, the water was receding so the crocodile could be seen clearly. Sadirman then told the other civilians about it. They surrounded the crocodile and were able to capture it with limited tools. After that, the crocodile was tied with a rope and brought to Sadirman’s house.

“The place where the crocodile appeared is where the children usually play,” said Oka Mahendra. After the crocodile appeared, the police told the civilians to be careful as Indragiri Hilir is known to be the habitat of crocodiles.

The police is coordinating with Great Hall for Natural Resources Conservation (BBKSDA) of Riau. For the time being, the crocodile is held in a civilian’s house.
