News24xx.com - President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla visited victims of the Kampung Melayu suicide bomb attacks at Dr Sukanto Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, on Thursday May 25 2017 evening.

“We have visited and met with the victims. Insya Allah [God willing], they will be able to go home in a day or two," Jokowi said.

Jokowi and Kalla directly went to the hospital from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport shortly after arriving from Surakarta, Central Java, and Makassar, South Sulawesi, respectively.

First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and Mufidah Kalla were also present. Jakarta Police chief, Insp. Gen. Mochamad Iriawan and Jakarta Military Command commander Maj. Gen. Jaswandi also came along for the visit.

Speaking to journalists, Jokowi asserted: “Terrorists "have no place in our country."

The President called on all Indonesian people to stay calm and maintain national unity. "Everyone must stay alert and unite against terrorism," he said.

Jokowi, Kalla and their entourage later visited the blast site at Kampung Melayu terminal in East Jakarta. Five people were killed in the Islamic State (IS)-linked suicide attacks on Wednesday evening, three of whom were police officers. Ten people were injured -- five of whom were civilians.
