News24xx.com -  As many as 34.208 baby lobsters were released wild in the sea of Gili Ketapang island, Probolinggo. Ten thousands of baby lobsters had been saved by Police.

The release was conducted by Fish Quality Control Quarantine Hall (BKIPM) Surabaya 1, East Java Regional Police, Preservation of Coastal Marine Resources Surabaya, and marine police of  Probolinggo.

Lobster seeds which were released wild as many as 34.208 with detail as ie., 33.787 of sand lobsters, and  421 of pearl lobster.

 

According to the Head of BKIPM Surabaya 1, Muhlin, the seeds were seeds of lobster which were saved by East Java Police at Gatot Subroto street, Ketapang, Banyuwangi which planned to be sent to Bali on Sunday, April 15th.
 

“We chose Gili Ketapang sea, Probolinggo for the place to release because the sea is suitable for baby lobster to grow” said Muhlin.

Muhlin said that lobster could not be traded because of the small size. However, for lobster with weight more than 200 grams were allowed for trading.


“So, below that, clearly is prohibited as per regulation of maritim affairs and fisheries ministry no.56, 2016 regarding catch and or export of baby lobsters” he explained.

In this case, police had detained the perpetrator named Mur Khalik, Dusun Malar resident, Macan Pulih village, Kabat, Banyuwangi.  The perpetrator planned to smugling baby lobsters to Vietnam thru Denpasar, Bali.
