Blinded by love, a teenager married with a 72-year-old grandmother in Tennessee

News24xx.com - Love is blind. That phrase may suitable for the relationship of Almeda and Gary Hardwick. Although have despite their 53 year age gap, but they can fell in love. 

Their story was began in the summer of 2016. At that time, Almeda 72-year-old go to a pizza restaurant and met with Gary Hardwick, 19-year-old. Gary claims it was ‘love at first sight’ when he seen the grandmother of six. Gary having just come out of an unhappy relationship with her 77-year-old ex.

After just two weeks of dating Gary took the relationship to the next level and they decided to get married. And now, the couple live in Maryville, Tennessee.

Despite the staggering difference in their age, Gary and Almeda have similar interests and hobbies. In their two years of marriage,  Gary and Almeda said they are happier than ever.  And after their wedding photos has circulated on social media, their story became viral and they getting many interviews from television show or newspapers. 

As quoted from Barcroft TV, Almeda told : "If you love somebody, age is just a number. I’ve now been happily married with my true soul mate. I knew he was the one I wanted to spend my life with. I was never intimidated by the age at all."

But at the first, Aaron and Indiana Elliott, Almeda’s Grandchildren, found difficult to accept the relationship of their grandmother.

Particularly 22-year-old Aaron, who is three years older than his step-grandfather. Aaron said: "I only called him Grandfather once and it was when I was drunk. In my head, I see him as a friend more than a Grandfather. But we know, our grandmother is happy. So,  how can you not be supportive about that?"

Since being married, Gary and Almeda have started their own YouTube channel, which currently has 49,000 subscribers. Their videos tend to focus on their love.
