Muhammadiyah already set the beginning of fasting, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha based on the calculation of hisab

News24xx.com -Muhammadiyah Central Leadership sets the beginning of fasting or 1 Ramadhan 1439 Hijriah on Thursday, May 17th, 2018. Determination of Ramadan, Syawal and Dhul-Hijjah 1439 Hijriyah has been issued by letter No. 01 / MLM / 1.0 / E / 2018 and signed by the Chairman Haedar Nasir and Secretary General of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu'ti on Friday, April 20th 2018 (20/4/2018).

In addition to set the beginning of Ramadhan month, Muhammadiyah has also set 1 Syawal 1439 Hijri or Eid al-fitr on 2018 falls on Friday, June 15th, 2018. Furthermore, Eid al-Adha 10 Dzulhijah fell on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018. The decision refers to the results of astronomical calculations or hisab.

"With the system of hisab, we can know clearly and definitely the beginning of the month and calendar count not only a year two years ahead, even tens of years into the future" said Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir.

"The determination of these big days has been signed in the number 01 / MLM / I.O / E / 2018 and has been circulated" said Header.

Haedar hopes that the edict can serve as a guide for Muhammadiyah's citizens in Indonesia.

"The advanced and modern society needs certainty of dates for various purposes so that it is clear and does not wait for H-1 so that people can make their plans early" Haedar said.
