Russia demands the compensation in a trade war with the United States

News24xx.com -  Russia appealed to the World Trade Organization (WTO) with the demand for US compensation for steel and aluminum. This was reported by Reuters referring to WTO documents.

"We asked many advice about the steps that introduced by the United States," Tass told to RF Representative to WTO Gennady Ovechko.  

The source said that among the compensation measures may be a reduction by Washington tariffs for other types of Russian goods. If the consultation is unsuccessful, Moscow will be handle its own duty to restore balance in trade, the agency's agency said.

As quoted by Reuters, Washington agrees to negotiate with China and also with India and the European Union.

At the same time, according to The Wall Street Journal, Brussels is ready to offer to the United States a trade agreement that will reduce tariffs for imports of American cars and equipment to Europe. In return, the EU demanded that the block countries be unaffected by the new American task.

Since March 23 2018, Washingto has set tariff increases for metals imports for all countries except Brazil, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Australia and EU countries, that will begin on May 1. In the United States, these measures are described by national security interests.

At the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade in March, they warned about the preparation of an appeal to the WTO.
