News24xx.com - Minister of Communications and Informatics (Kemenkominfo), Rudiantara, repeatedly asserted that he did not hesitate to close the Facebook service in Indonesia. But until now, it has not been done.

Kemenkominfo admitted, that they do not have strong evidence about the data of Indonesian users who leak into the hands of Cambridge Analytica.

The Director General of Application and Informatics, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan responded to the attitude of a number of parties who were hesitant with the firmness of their ministry. Kemenkominfo is considered not firm against Facebook, a different attitude when facing Telegram and Tumblr.

Semuel argued that Facebook scandal which was happening is not the same as the case of Telegram and Tumblr. In a data leak involving the Cambridge Analytica, he believed there is no solid evidence to crack down Facebook.

"If I close it, I dont have any evidence," said Semuel when met at Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 24th 2018.

He told the Telegram case had evidence of a number of content containing terrorism and radicalism. As for Tumblr, the evidence in the form of thousands of pornographic content.

Moreover according to Semuel, Facebook responds quickly to the government's concerns. This rapid response was not happened when the government contacted Tumblr and Telegram before we blocked their services. "But again, once we see any abuse of data and involved Facebook, there will no mercy."

The government is currently awaiting for Facebook reports on the fate of more than 1 million Indonesian users whose data leaked into the hands of Cambridge Analytica. The report due on April 26th is expected to reveal the intended use of the data.
