News24xx.com - Last month, three Mexican film students, Javier Salomon Aceves 25, year-old, Jesus Daniel Diaz 20 year-old and Marco Garcia Avalos 20 year-old were missing and found dead. Mexican government said that they were beaten, killed and their bodies were dissolved in acid. The three young men studied at University of Audiovisual Media in Guadalajara

The police had caught two suspects of the murder and released arrest warrants for six other suspects. Jalisco state attorney general, Raul Sanchez said that the investigation was still ongoing.

The prosecutors accused as criminal group as the one behind the murder. They suspected it to be Jalisco New Generation Cartel, one of the most violent criminal syndicate in Mexico, as dissolving the remains of their victims is their common tactic.

The three young students were doing schoolwork in a house that belonged to the aunt of one of them, in Tonala, a Guadalajara suburb, on the day they were missing. The place was known to be a place with major criminal figure. It was assumed that the house had been watched and their presence had aroused suspicions. Armed men who identified themselves as police officers had ushered the three young men to some place when their vehicle stopped due to mechanical problems.

Police had investigated the houses connected to the murder and found firearms and barrels of sulfuric acid in one of them. It was possible that there were other victims before them, whose bodies had already been disposed with the acid in that place.

Lis Torres, who led the investigation, said that one of the students was beaten to dead and it was possible that the murderer decided to kill the other two after that. However, many details was still uncleared.

The students’ disappearance incited huge street protests in Gualadajara, which condemned kidnappings, killings and other crimes in Jalisco state. Among those who condemned it was director Guillermo del Toro who contributed to film studies in Mexico.
