UN secretary general condemned bombing involving women and children


Surabaya bombingsSurabaya bombings - A series of bombings occurred in Surabaya yesterday. UN Secretary General Antonio Gutteres condemned the incident as involving children.

"The UN secretary general condemns the terror of the church congregation in Surabaya, Indonesia, on May 13th" UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, told AFP on Tuesday, May 15th 2018.

Gutteres, said Dujarric, gets a report about the involvement of the child in this terror act. For Gutteres, this was a terrible thing. "He was horrified by the reports that children were being used in the attack" Dujarric wrote.

The UN secretary general expressed his grief to the victims. He also hopes that the wounded will soon heal."He (UN Secretary General) reaffirms UN support to the people and government of Indonesia for fighting and preventing terrorism and extremist violence" Dujarric wrote.

The UN support efforts to promote diversity, moderation and tolerance. According to Gutteres, this campaign can counter terrorism and extremism.
