In Aceh, the syattariyah congregation has started fasting since tuesday

The grandson of Habib Muda Seunagan, Said Kamaruddin said, "Fasting started from Tuesday is the result of a meeting with the clerics of the followers of the Habib Syariah Congregation of Seunagan."

"We fasted earlier this is based on the calculation of Iima, for the followers of Habib Muda Seunagan around thousands of people began to perform Tarawih pray on Monday night" said Said Kamaruddin.

Abu Habib Qudrat, who is believed to be a trustee, has appealed to all followers of Habib Muda Seunagan in Nagan Raya, Gayo Lues, Aceh Barat Daya, Aceh Barat and Pidie districts to do fasting on Tuesday.

"Habib Seunagan's followers since decades ago has set the holy month of Ramadhan earlier for two or three days than the fasting schedule in general, so this year's we are fasting two days earlier" said Said.

According to him, in 2018, with them fasting on Tuesday, then the number of their fasts will be full for 30 days. And so on the feast of Eid al-Fitr, Habib Seunagan's followers will celebrate it after fasting for a full 30 days.

"All followers of Habib Muda Seunagan in order to perform fast service are often filled with other worship, and if the feast of Eid al-Fitr is earlier to appreciate other people who are still fasting" said Said.

"Not only in Aceh alone, but a number of pilgrims in Indonesia will also apply the same thing that Aceh did" he said.

The Government of Aceh through the Aceh Ulama Consultative Assembly set the start of Ramadan to fall on Thursday, May 17th, 2018. However, the determination of one Ramadan will be officially re-announced by the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
