News24xx.com - There is a unique fact about outer space. Anyone who goes there will most likely become taller. A study done by NASA shows that microgravitation in outer space can affect human’s spine. The spine can grow, but on earth, it is in a pressured position due to gravitation.
 

In outer space, the gravitation is much smaller than earth. Because of that, our spine can relax and grow. The growth of our spine affects our height. This is why astronauts that work for so long in outer space can grow taller.

Norishige Kanai, a Japanese astronaut who underwent a mission in International Space Station (ISS) experienced something similar. In a tweet, Kanai said that his height increased. “My height has been measured in outer space and for some reason, I become taller by 9 cm! Only in three weeks, it is really increasing, I never experienced this since high school” he said.
 

He went to outer space in December 2017 and had been gone for almost six months. In his tweet, he said he was worried if his body would be fine when he arrived back on earth.
 

He said, the captain of his team doubted he grew 9 cm and asked him to measure his height once more. It turned out he only grew 2 cm. He apologized for the wrong information, saying that he was embarrassed.

NASA scientists confirmed that astronauts can grow until 5 cm in space.However, they are still doing further research about it.
