News24xx.com - There is no one place of worship that existed on earth when the Masjid al-Haram and al-Aqsa Mosque was built. The scholars argue the mosque was built by the angels or by the Prophet Adam AS. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the second mosque built on earth after the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The area of ??the al-Aqsa Mosque has not increased and diminished over the course of its history, in contrast to the area of ??Masjid al-Haram with an-Nabawi Mosque which continues to expand. The area of ??al-Aqsa Mosque is 144 dunum (one dunum = 100 m2).

Rasulullah SAW said, "One prayer in my mosque is more than four prayers in al-Aqsa Mosque, and al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of good prayer, and almost a time, where one has a land the size of his horse's reins, looks Baitul-Maqdis, it is better for it from the whole world or he says better than the world and everything in it. " (HR Hakim and validated by adz-dhahabi)

As to who built the Al-Aqsa Mosque, many opinions say, but the strongest opinion is that this mosque was built by Prophet Adam. The distance of construction of Masjid al-Haram with al-Aqsa Mosque is 40 years.

In Sahih Muslim narrated a hadith from Abu Dharr al-Ghifari radhiallahu 'anhu, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, which mosque was first built on earth?" He replied, "Masjid al-Haram." I asked again,” then?” He replied," The mosque of al-Aqsa." I asked again," How many years is the distance of the second mosque?" He replied," 40. No matter where you meet the prayer time, pray, because the place (that you meet it) is a mosque"

Al-Aqsa Mosque built by Prophet Adam was once hit by a great flood in the time of Noah, but the remaining buildings can still be found.

Then, re-built by Prophet Sulaiman AS. The scholars, such as Ibn al-Jawzi, al-Qurthubi, and besides both explained that what prophet Sulaiman AS meant by development was improvement rather than building it from scratch.

As Prophet Ibrahim rebuilt the Masjid al-Haram after Prophet Adam built it for the first time. This is because there is damage caused by the flood at the time of Noah.

In some details, al-Aqsa Mosque was first built in about 2,500 BC.
