Amazing, 71 year old grandmother in Mexico said she is six months pregnant

News24xx.com - This 71-year-old woman claims that she deserves the title to be the oldest pregnant women in the world. Maria de la Luz from Mazatlan, Mexico, claimed that she is six months pregnant at the age of 71 years. It all started three months ago when Maria liked to feel nauseous and tired easily. Mother of eight children then checked into the doctor and it was revealed that she was carrying soon to be her 9th child.

Both Maria and her doctor were surprised. In fact, she has been through ultrasound checks 10 times over the past three months just to ensure the pregnancy. "They said my baby is female" said Maria as quoted from Oddity Central.

The news has led to controversy. Many suggested that Maria immediately abort the baby for reasons of her health. Her children did not approve that her mother to raise another baby again at her age. However, Maria still insisted to keep her baby.

The plan, Mary will give birth by c-section because of her age that does not allow her to do normal labor. Many doctors doubted the news and called it just a lies.

On the other hand, the story of 'miracle' was to invite sympathy of local politician Luis Guillermo Benitez. The man who was running for Mazatlan's mayor even offered to be the godfather of the child.

If Maria finally did give birth, she would be the oldest mother to give a birth in world history. Currently, the title is in the hands by Maria del Carmen Bousada. She gave birth to twins in 2006 at the age of 66 years and 358 days.
