Dani Pedrosa will leave Repsol Honda team after 2018 MotoGP season

News24xx.com - The news of Repsol Honda's farewell to Dani Pedrosa mentioned in some media is true. HRC ensure Pedrosa is no longer their racer after 2018 MotoGP season.

As reported in MotoGP.com, Honda wants an alternative after Pedrosa's performance in this season is considered not good enough. In the first six races, the best position the Spanish rider could reach was only fifth in Le Mans, France.

From the results of last year's racing and this year, there was no improvement for the better. In this year's event Pedrosa lags far behind his teammate, Marc Marquez. Pedrosa has just 29 points, 66 points difference of Marquez, who topped the chart.

"I want to thank HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) for the years of great success" said Pedrosa, which quoted from MotoGP.com.

Pedrosa also said, "I have grown not only as a rider, but also someone with them. I will always have HRC in my memories and my heart. In life, we all need new challenges and I think now is the right time for change, thank you, HRC"

Pedrosa will leave Honda after working together in three racing classes: 125cc, 250cc, and MotoGP. Since appearing in the premier class in 2006, Pedrosa has scored 31 wins, 112 podiums and 31 pole positions in 205 starts.

HRC President Yoshishige Nomura, expressed his feelings, "Today is a sad day for me. On behalf of HRC, I want to thank Dani for his hard work and success, and to show our gratitude for two decades together. We also want to expect the best and success for him.Thank you, Dani"
