Chinese cameras found a criminal in the fifty thousand crowd

Be careful, Big Brother is watching you!Be careful, Big Brother is watching you! -The Chinese authorities reported that the national video surveillance system was able to detect a criminal in the crowd more than 50 thousand people. This is reported by Gizmodo with reference to local media.
The cameras found a 31-year-old man, wanted for economic crimes, during a concert in Nanchang (the country's third largest city). His personality is not disclosed, we only know that the video surveillance system revealed him in the crowd at the performance of the famous singer Jackie Chun. Police officers conducted an operation to detain them immediately after the event.

China is one of the leaders among countries that have implemented a video surveillance system in cities with the use of neural networks. For example, cameras with AI are able to find suspects and criminals among a large crowd of people in just a few minutes.
The man wanted for economic crimes was very surprised when he was detained by government officials. He drove about 100 km with his family and friends to attend the event, and was confident that no one would be able to recognize him in a huge crowd. The man did not consider that the Chinese authorities are actively implementing face detection and video surveillance systems based on AI.
The principle of their work is quite simple: in any public place in China where there are cameras, the computer system tracks and identifies people in real time. The government of the country has unlimited powers to use AI to collect and process data on the activities of the population. The machine mind does not just detect dangerous criminals to ensure the safety of streets. For example, a pedestrian who violated the traffic rules and got into the camera's field of view will receive a notice of the penalty. If he does not pay for it, it will affect his "social credit": as a result, the violator can limit access to public transport, car rental, air travel, bank loans and the ability to make large purchases.
