Singapore held the first ever summit of the United States and North Korea

News24xx.com - In Singapore, ended the first in the history of the two countries talks between US President Donald Trump and the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-Un, reports on June 12 BBC.

The meeting took place at the Hotel Capella on Sentosa Island. Personal talks between the two heads of state lasted 35 minutes, then the summit continued in an expanded format. After that, Trump and Kim Jong-Un held a working lunch.

After the summit, the North Korean leader said that "many will remember this as a fantasy," and called the meeting "a great prelude to peace." Trump, in turn, told reporters that the talks were "a huge success."

At the end of the summit, the countries concluded an agreement. It is known that the document, signed by the United States and North Korea, consists of four points:

- the countries announced a restart of relations;
- countries are going to work together to establish stability and peace on the Korean peninsula;
- The DPRK confirmed that it will strive for "full denuclearization of the Korean peninsula";
- The countries are negotiating to identify and return to the United States the remains of American prisoners of war, who have been in the DPRK since the Korean War.

Later, a press conference will be held, at which they will officially announce the agreements of the United States and North Korea.

In the United States, it is believed that North Korea should abandon nuclear weapons in exchange for economic assistance. On May 24, the DPRK dismantled the test site, where nuclear tests were conducted.
