Spanish coach sacked just a day before the 2018 World Cup held

News24xx.com -  Just a day ahead of kick-off the 2018 World Cup, the Spanish national team even sacked his coach. 

Julen Lopetegui was removed from his position as the coach by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).


"We've decided to fire the national team coach," RFEF president Luis Rubiales told in an impromptu news conference on Wednesday, June 13 2018 as quoted from the Guardian.


"Our achievement to get here (in the 2018 World Cup) is also because his great contribution, and we must thank to him and wish him get the best," he added.


The dismissal came after Lopetegui was announced as the new coach of Real Madrid after the 2018 World Cup final. 

At the first,  the 51-year-old man was allegedly still going to train of Spain until the tournament in Russia has settled.


"We just found out that he is going to join with Real Madrid,  in a situation where it is time for him to have good behavior, Julen is already working very well on our team, but we cannot accept his attitude," Rubiales said.


Spain being unbeaten team in 20 games since handled by Lopetegui after the 2016 European Cup. 

But, the Spanish players were reportedly refused to his dismissal. And La Roja will start his work as the coach in the 2018 World Cup to face with Portugal on Saturday, June 2018 in early morning hours.
