News24xx.com - Earlier, the Taliban had declared a three-day of truce for Eid celebrations. The announcement comes after Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani on June 7th, 2018 announced a truce from June 11th to 19th, 2018 for similar reasons.

This large attack was the first since a truce for Eid celebrations. Taliban groups had massacred 30 Afghan soldiers in an ambush at two checkpoints in the western region of Badghis Province.

Governor, Abdul Qafoor Malikzai informed the massive attack that killed 30 soldiers. And Badghis provincial council chief, Abdul Aziz Bek also said a military base in the Bala district was the target of an ambush.

Abdul Aziz Bek said that quoted by Reuters on Monday, June 25th 2018, "A large number of Taliban members came from several directions."

On June 17th, the Taliban announced that they would return to the mountain to continue fighting government troops, although President Ashraf Ghani extended the ten-day of truce.

At least 26 people were killed in an explosion in Nangarhar province. The bomb attacks claimed by the ISIS or Daesh group have wounded several civilians and Afghan Taliban members.
