A man died because crushed by his own mother coffin

News24xx.com - Samen Kondorura, a 40 year old Indonesian man, was killed due to being crushed by his own mother’s coffin. The incident happened in Sulawesi, Parinding valley in North Toraja District.

According to chef commissioner of the Tana Toraja, Julianto Sirait, at that time,  pallbearers lost their footing while carrying the coffin up a bamboo ladder. The casket was about to be hoisted onto a lakkian, an ornately carved tower where the deceased is placed before the funeral rites. However, the casket fell from the tower and hit Samen under it.

The video showing the incident had become viral on the internet. In the video, you can see the ladder slip when the casket enters the tower. The men tumble several meters to the ground and the casket struck the victim. The witnesses tried to help Samen, but he died in the hospital later on.

Sirait said that the family declined to make any charge. Samen’s body now laid alongside his mother’s, Bertha.
