News24xx.com - Residents of Switzerland, who don’t want to pay for the disposal of garbage, began to travel to neighboring France and leave waste there. This is reported by the publication "The Local".

Representatives of the French customs bordering region Franche-Conte, claim that they intercepted 140 Swiss who intended to throw garbage abroad. One of them managed to leave bags on the sidelines, but he was tracked by name and address on discarded documents.

According to the French authorities, they managed to prevent the coming-in of about 10 tons of garbage into the country.

The reason for the development of this process was the high cost of waste management in Switzerland. In some regions, are installed electronic urns, which weigh garbage and require money for each kilogram. In some places, waste can be disposed of in expensive bags only, whch are approved by the local council.

The costs are so high that the Swiss, who transport their garbage abroad, even don’t fear a fine of 150 euros in France.
