News24xx.com - Nut is not just a healthy snack. But according to research, eating nut was able to significantly increase the sperm quantity of young men.

"These findings support an important role that nut consumption can also improve sperm quality" the researchers said. It's just that the research reveals that this study is supported by male respondents who are all healthy and 'seen' fertile.

Conversely, the potential benefits of nut for men who have problems or struggle with their fertility should still be studied.

Researchers studied 119 men with age ranges from 18 to 35 years. They are divided into two large groups. One group is required to eat 60 grams of almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts every day. While group two was not given any nut.

After 14 weeks, the first group which ate nut turns out have a significant increase in sperm quantity, vitality, sperm motility, and morphology (sperm form). All of this is related to male fertility."In addition, subjects in the nut group also showed a significant reduction in the rate of DNA fragmentation (shed DNA) of their sperm. This is a parameter closely related to male infertility."

These results are considered consistent with the improvements in sperm quality observed in men with a diet rich in omega-3, antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, selenium, zinc, and folate.

But there is a question that arises as a reaction to the study presented at a meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Barcelona, ??is whether men should add nuts in their diet if they wish their wives to become pregnant.

"But evidence from the literature that changes in healthy lifestyles such as following a healthy diet can help conception, and of course, beans are a key component of a healthy Mediterranean diet."
