Newest feature of Facebook that will detect the fake news

IllustrationIllustration - Facebook is currently trying out new features in Messenger that will identify suspicious accounts of direct message senders. The feature lets the user know the country of origin of the account sending the message through the phone number, and whether the account is old or newly created.

Quoted from The Verge, Friday, July 13th 2018, is Erin Gallagher, a multimedia artist who first discovered this feature on his Messenger account.

Facebook through her spokesman, Dalya Browne, confirmed that it is true that her side is testing the latest Messenger feature. But what Gallagher shows, according to her is only a small test results of the features that are being tried.

While this feature is intended to combat suspicious messages, the screenshots displayed indicate that the feature can only notify users of a Messenger account that is not connected to an official Facebook account, and if the account is associated with a Russian phone number.

Implicitly, it is impressive that Russia is the main enemy of Facebook in its fight against hoaxes. Most of the fake accounts from Russia claim to be American citizens.

In the screenshot also seen that Facebook will include a description 'just made' on suspicious accounts in Messenger.Facebook to date has a pretty good relationship with Russia-sponsored misinformation campaign, during the 2016 presidential election campaign.
