News24xx.com - AI Machine algorithms can be used to predict how the effects of harmful chemicals on the human body. The accuracy level is similar to testing the animal, as published in Toxicological Sciences.

Thus, researchers could save 3.5 billion euros (about IDR 58.6 trillion) annually for their experiments. In addition, their experiments were no longer life-threatening for the laboratory animals that became its experiment.

Rats, rabbits, and monkeys are the most commonly tested animal when researchers test their experiments. As many as 57 percent of the animal which became experiments died in Europe in 2011. Most of these chemicals experiments for example used on drugs, cosmetics, electronic equipment.

For the experiment, a group of researchers conducted a series of databases to label 80,908 chemicals. Some of the chemicals tested do cause thinning, irritation, severe eye damage, or harm to the ozone layer.

Then they create an unsupervised mixture and a supervised mixture. Both are used to build statistical models. This statistical model will form a clustering of how dangerous a mixture and similar chemical toxicity of one and the other.

As a result, the built model shows an accuracy of 70-80 percent over time. This is in line with the OECD guidelines which show that animal testing shows an accuracy of 70-96 percent.
