News24xx.com - The difficulty of finding a car in a large parking lot in shopping malls and offices became ordinary thing for drivers. Especially if the driver does not remember the aisle number where the car was parked. Departing from the issue, SoftBank Group Corp. launched a new application that will allow drivers to find and book parking spaces. Unfortunately, this app is currently only available in Japan.

Launched from Bloomberg, a new service, called BLUU Smart Parking, will allow drivers to find an open parking lot, order it first and pay the parking cost just using a smart phone.

Each location will have cameras and magnetic sensors to monitor the car as they enter and go, not the prevailing locks that are common in Japan. SoftBank, which did not disclose the revenue target or size of its initial investment in BLUU, initially wanted to work with a company that wanted to rent space. The trial version begins next month, followed by a full launch in October.

SoftBank, who has invested in a share-sharing service including Uber Technologies Inc., said that it aims to change the way people park, using data collected through BLUU.

While Japan lags behind the US in a share economic service, they continue to pursue. Now, SoftBank is trying to jump ahead by offering such services to drivers.

The sensors used for services are less expensive than traditional physical keys, lowering the barriers for companies to set up parking services, according to Hidefumi Kitahara, chief technology strategist at SoftBank.
