News24xx.com - Samsung Electronics opened its mobile phone factory that claimed to be the largest in the world. India was chosen by Samsung for the establishment of this factory to meet the program promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attract investors to manufacturing in South Asian countries.

Not surprisingly, the opening of a factory located on the outskirts of Delhi attended by Prime Minister Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in, a sign of how serious this cooperation is.

Samsung said the factory will double the capacity of Samsung mobile phone production to 120 million units per year, from the previous 68 million units a year. But Samsung refused to explain more details about this.

Not only Samsung, mobile phone vendors from Xiaomi to Oppo trying to build factories in India and meet the campaign 'Made in India' which Prime Minister Modi echoed. Xiaomi in April even promised to build three more factories in the country of Bollywood.

India itself is a country with the largest economy in Asia which last year was able to attract total foreign investment of USD 62 billion, including reinvestment action. "The opportunity here is so great that a big factory will help Samsung meet the huge demand of this 1.3-million-strong country, where there are 425 million smartphone users" said Faisal Kawoosa, market researcher from CMR Pvt.

The establishment of the factory also seems as the Samsung's strategy to reclaim its market in India. To note, earlier this year Xiaomi shifted the position of Samsung in the first mobile phone market India, which also undermines Samsung's dominance in the market for a long time.
