Lois Hummer, the 90 year-old woman, who also is a weight lifting athlete

News24xx.com - Perhaps in a glance we will not believe there is an elderly, in the age of 90, be able to do weightlifting. Lois Hummer from Ohio proved it, that age is just a number. Lois started her weight lifting career at the age of 75. Since joining, she has been training with her personal coach, Nick Oskowski, to participate in a number of events.

The heaviest load Lois ever lifted was 102 kilograms. and make her ogled by several companies associated with powerlifting and deadlifting.

Nick has been training Lois for years and witnessed her progress. He mentioned that the most likely that inspired her to start exercising was after her husband died. "She said she just needed a good group of people to get along together, and I think being in the neighborhood of young people makes a big difference" he said, quoted by Women's Health.

The gym where he works has loads of competitive weightlift and bodybuilders, it seems that Lois is triggered by it. Nick says she likes its atmosphere, she likes its brotherhood, and Lois is fit to be there. "The story not only inspired me, but also the others, and shows there are benefits to people which on her age" he continued.

Although it looks like it is not recommended or dangerous, Nick called lifting weights actually have many health benefits for elderly people. Not only, it does help strengthen bone mass, weigthlifting also helps metabolize, improves cognitive function, improves quality of life and gives you a reason to move on and keep fighting.
