News24xx.com - Penalty imposed because Google is considered to control the unhealthy market of mobile operating system with its Android. The amount of fine that was dropped was not half-hearted. As quoted from Reuters on Thursday, July 19th 2018, Google was forced to pay EUR 4.34 billion or IDR 72.8 trillion.

Europe also ordered Google to stop using its Android operating system to tackle opponents. This decision also made Google appealed.

The penalty is almost double from the previous record, a fine of EUR 2.4 billion (about IDR 40.3 trillion) that Google had to pay last year, after its online shopping search service was deemed unfair to its competitors.

This fine rate is equivalent to a revenue of about two weeks of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and will barely reduce its corporate cash reserves by the quadrillion (USD 102.9 billion).

However, the imposition of these fines could lead to increased trade tensions between Brussels authorities where European antitrust regulators are sheltered by the United States government in Washington.
