News24xx.com - The death victims in a fire in an apartment in London, United Kingdom increased to 30 people. London's Metropolitan Police, Commander Stuart Cundy calling that number is estimated to be growing.

"At least 30 people have died due to fires. I believe the numbers will increase," said Cundy in his statement as reported by AFP, Saturday (17/6).

He said the fire was successfully extinguished after burning for two days. Based on media reports, more than 70 people unknown. Police officers have warned some victims may never be identified because of the state of their body.

It is believed there were about 600 people in the Tower complex, Grenfell block Lancaster West Estate, North Kensington, when fire struck on Wednesday (14/6) early morning local time. Today, dozens of people were reported still missing or unknown whereabouts.

Separately, the head of the Firefighting Department London, Dany Cotton stated, the hope for finding survivors from behind the ruins of a fire has faded. "Tragically, we now don't expect could find anybody alive," he said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known for sure. The investigation is still being conducted by local authorities.
