Indonesian oldest athlete will compete in Asian Games


Michael Bambang HartonoMichael Bambang Hartono - Michael Bambang Hartono is recorded as the oldest athlete from Indonesian that will compete in Asian Games 2018. 

The 79-year-old man will strengthen National Team of Bridge Indonesia.

Although he is almost in his eighties, his determination rivals all of the younger athletes. The man even went through several training outside the country so his body will be in prime condition and strong enough to be able to compete in Asian Games 2018.

Bambang and his colleagues said that they were ready to do their best to compete in Indonesia’s name in Asian Games. He also said that they were determined to gain two gold medals. He also has another motivation for competing in the game.

“So, I will not become senile so early,” Bambang said spontanically during the conversation in Soekarno Hatta Airport, Wednesday, August 8th 2018.

National Team of Bridge Indonesia is optimistic about their strength for competing in Asian Games 2018. 

They have good records during try-outs in Europe and United States. During those tournaments, Bambang and company gained 20 medals, 11 of them being gold.
